Family Fun Fair brought 2,000 attendees together in Quincy
/On June 21st, BCNC’s Family Fun Fair brought together 2,000 children, families, and community members in Quincy for a day of free activities, performances, and cultural fun for the whole family. Through the fair, BCNC aimed to build social connections, provide access to community resources, build up sense of belonging, and raise awareness of problem gambling and mental well-being. Guests enjoyed tackling the bouncy obstacle courses, petting baby animals, creating sand bottle art, playing with balloon animals, cultural performances, and learning about more resources.

Paul Bi, co-chair of the BCNC Quincy’s Leadership Council and BCNC Board Member, shared a warm welcome. State Senator John Keenan provided remarks emphasizing the importance of supporting the community and families. BCNC staff, Ying-Chen Wang served as the MC. Special thanks to our volunteers including employees from State Street Corporation and Bank of America for helping the fair run smoothly.
Children tested their STEM skills with Quincy Coders and drew self portraits with Boston Children’s Museum, created flower crowns with Pao Arts Center, planted flowers with Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association of Greater Lowell, tested their reading skills with the Everett Haitian Community Center, made panda crafts with ACCESS and received face painting provided by the Chinese Baptist Church of Greater Boston.
For parents and caregivers, this Fair also offered important health and educational resources. Tufts Medicine provided health screenings, and BCNC programs distributed flyers for classes, child care, parenting workshops, and mental health support services. The Building Our Bonds Authentically (BOBA) Project conducted outreach to support their research on how Asian teens and their families feel about issues related to Asian and Asian American identity.
The Fair culminated with a pie eating contest.
Special thanks to our generous sponsors and donors that supported this event and BCNC programs to strengthen immigrant families with youth leadership and college access programs, adult English classes to prepare for college and career, and family counseling and parenting workshops in Quincy.
